Macro Tracker terms of use

These terms govern use of the Macro Tracker website, private nutrition ledger, global food catalog, and connected plugin tools.

Personal tracking, not medical care

Macro Tracker is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, clinician, diagnosis, treatment plan, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice. Nutrition data can be incomplete, estimated, transcribed incorrectly, or based on public sources that change.

Do not use Macro Tracker for an emergency or as the sole basis for a medical, allergy, pregnancy, eating-disorder, medication, or other health decision.

Eligibility and these terms

Macro Tracker is intended for people age 13 and older and does not target children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use it only with a parent or legal guardian's permission. By creating an account or using Macro Tracker, you represent that you meet these requirements, agree to these terms, and acknowledge the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your account and instructions

  • Provide accurate account information and protect your credentials and connected-host access.
  • Review receipts, assumptions, quantities, label columns, and serving bases before relying on a record.
  • Use write tools only for your own authorized account and do not attempt to access another person's private data.
  • Do not abuse, probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or circumvent service limits or access controls.

Global food submissions

When a logging request resolves an identifiable food through USDA, a Nutrition Facts label, or corroborated public research—or when you explicitly contribute or correct food facts—Macro Tracker deduplicates the identity and reuses or stores an immutable shared version. Exact facts reuse their existing provenance; new facts retain their USDA, printed-label, or estimated source classification. No shared version changes historical intake. Signed-in users may receive normalized identity, brand, identifiers, serving bases, nutrient facts, source classifications, and source quality. Ordinary catalog responses exclude source references. Private foods and intake remain private.

Shared catalog facts may remain available independently of any one account. Do not put personal information in a food-fact correction note.

Connected services

ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, and other hosts you choose to connect have their own terms, availability, model output, and data practices. You choose when to connect and authorize those hosts, and their terms govern the data they retain outside Macro Tracker.

When a food cannot be resolved from Macro Tracker's catalog, the service may automatically send a narrow food-search query to USDA FoodData Central. USDA receives no Macro Tracker account identity, private ledger, or report. Public food data can change and should be reviewed before you rely on it.

If the global catalog and USDA cannot resolve a food, a connected host may research public web sources only for a logging request you authorize. The host—not Macro Tracker's server—accesses those sites and supplies the structured food, nutrition basis, nutrients, consumed amount, quantity quality, source titles, and public HTTPS URLs. Macro Tracker keeps the resulting intake private but reuses or adds the corroborated food facts and source metadata as an immutable shared catalog version. Later corrections do not rewrite the facts recorded with your intake. Review the sources and estimate before relying on it; the host's and source sites' terms govern their services.

Availability and changes

The service may change, pause, reject unsafe or malformed requests, enforce limits, or end support for a client or feature. Data export remains available through the website when the service is operating. Features described as estimates, previews, or externally hosted may change without notice.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, Macro Tracker is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free nutrition data. You remain responsible for reviewing your records and for decisions made from them.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator of Macro Tracker is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service or connected hosts. These terms do not limit consumer rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow the parties to waive.

Ending use and contact

You may stop using connected tools, revoke access, or export your data at any time. Access may be suspended for material abuse, security risk, or unlawful use.

Questions about these terms can be emailed to support@jpamorgan.com. Never send passwords, OAuth tokens, reset tokens, Nutrition Facts images, or a full meal history.
